We tried something new this year, entering the Kiwanis Speech Arts Festival, along with some other students from Jubal Cottage School. Emmi and Tim each memorized a poem (from a syllabus) and had to recite it in front of the adjudicator, and the rest of their class. Tim went last week, and Emmmi was today. Both children did well, and we are very proud of them! They also received some good feedback. Here they are with their certificates.
I kept meaning to write a post about starting some seeds - suffice it to say we started some! And some have been popping up. They are on a small table in Emily's room, and get examined every day. And if overwatering is bad for starting seeds, then we may be in trouble! We started some sunflower and nasturiums. So stay tuned for photos and more updates!
We've been enjoying the recent snow here! Friends of ours had a "Play in the Snow Day" not long ago (fortunately not the past weekend!) and here are some pictures from it.
The children spent some time upstairs today, playing together in a great way. From time to time one would come down and tell me they were preparing a big surprise for Daddy and me! Wow!! It was hard not to go up and peak!!
