Today was the official first day of school in the province. We've been schooling a week already (including some yesterday - on a holiday!) but today the yellow schoolbuses started rolling. So to celebrate another school year, and also to revel in the flexibility of homeschooling - we took the day off!
We joined with a bunch of homeschoolers at a local park with a splash pad and had a "We're Not in School" party/picnic. To recognize each other (because some we had just known by email) we were supposed to wear orange. Unfortunately I didn't take my camera to get a picture of the teeter-totter covered with orange children!
It was great to hang out with some good friends, and make some more, including a family from our town that has started homeschooling this year!
